I have an idea of what Iwant to study, actually I've now it ever since I was a little kid. At first I wanted to be a veternarian, then I changed to a cardiologist then neurologist.

Buttons (Blog Assignment #3) Carolina =)

Once upon a time there was this old woman who lived in a very poor village and didn't have any way to earn money, and it was hard for her to do so because her capacity to do such works required strength and capacities, which in her case were going weaker, but she had some strength left. One day she remembered her mom left her her sewing machine before she died. Along with her sewing machine, she found pieces of material, thread, and a glass with buttons in it; they weren't so many, but she could afford to do decorate and compliment clothing with them.

Her neighbor, who was poor too, noticed she sewed so she asked her if she could make her a nice shirt. She brought her all the material she could need. The old lady spent her day sewing and decorating the shirt, but when she finished she noticed several buttons were left. When her neighbor came to pick it up the next day, she said she had liked it a lot and told her to keep the buttons. Days passed and people started to notice the old woman sewed so they started to come to visit her and tell her to make them some clothing or fix some. All of them would tell her to keep the buttons always until the old woman's button glass was full 'til no more.

There was once a happy famiily that went to a house in the forest to spend a quiet vacation. Chloe and her husband Alexander were playing with their beautiful daughter, Mary. Mary was only 3 years old and being in the forest away from all the pollution was a new thing for her. Marys parents were talking while she waas exploring the place, admiring all that was put in front of her eyes. Alexander and Chloe entered to the house to prepared the dinner and when they came back to look for Mary, she wasnt there.

Chloe and Alexander were very scared and dont know what to do, they began to look everywhere but they just cant found Mary. Alexander decided to go with the security guards to initiate a search, while Chloe stayed at home waiiting. Chloe couldnt keeep her arms crossed and went in search of her daughter, after hours of searching through the woods, Chloe finally found Mary, and now both are walking home.

PS. mr. C this is so unfairr:( i had to rewrite my story AGAIN! :( because i just cant publish it:(

The Thinking Dog

What's the dog story?

Once there was a very happy and beautiful dog.

During his life time he enjoyed playing out in the fields with his master. But then, something tragic happened. His master died suddenly in a car crash. And the dog's life changed forever.

The dog was part of an inheritance his master left to his son. But he was treated badly. First, he was chained to a pole outside and he was left there for days and he didnt ate. Second, the son's kids were mean to him and his life was horrible.

The time passed and the dog grew sadder and quiet. One day, the dog did something really similar to waht his master did. The son was amazed, and moment later, he put the dog inside the house.But it was too late, as the dog passed away two days later from the years of neglection, in a way, just like his master.

What's the story?

Well, the story is that he has been dumped there by his girlfriend. They started fighting because it was valentine's day and she wanted to take him to the beach, as gift, but she didn't tell him where they were going and why, so she started asking indirect questions to see if he remembered valentine's day, BUT HE FORGOT IT!. He forgot it was valentine's, he forgot the gift, and he forgot that valentine's day, is also their aniversary, so she got really angry and dumped him there, in the middle of nowhere.

He walked all the way to her house (he, luckily packed a map with him) and fulled her room with roses and gifts and all kind of sweet things so she could forgive him. When she got home she saw everything and she felt very guilty, so she decided to forgive him, so they could go to the beach and have a romantic valentine's day. Im sure he will not forget valentine's day again, ever. <3

--This was the hat of Dick Tracy.One of the greatest private detectives that sweared to protect and service all the ones needed of all time.This is hes history.He was a normal kid until one big crime kingping killed his father who was a detective in charge of blowing the kingpins emporioum.He got asasinated and inspired Dick in his wish to became like his father.So, he baecame one of the greatest detectives in the whole world.His legacy reached every corner of all the world. From Mexico to australia.He was wordly demanded to solve cases such as : who didnt lift the toilet seat last night, who killed princess Diana, and hes most famous case who stole the pick of destiny???

--Now hes gone. Like a bad dream come to life, he was killed by trying to bring the kingpin who was responsibe of killing his father.he fought hard till the end.he will be remembered as the greatest not detective, but hero of all time.he helped human kind in the development of a vaccine against cancer and aids.he was more than a man and less than a god.Scarface, terminator, Dirty Harry, little girls theres only Dick Tracy. What is the ad intended purpose?
The ad is trying to make you understand that everytime you smoke your body is suffering it, and in some point, you will die.

Is this ad successful in achieving its purpose?
I think so, because the picture shows a guy that is losing his leg, but if you smoke you may lose your fingers or you'll get lung cancer or any other terminal disease.

tell people never to drink and drive. and they show a a picture of jacqueline sabudrio. she was involved in a car accident, the other driver was drunk and he passed, but she survived and her quality life is bad. she's severly burned

Is this ad successful in achieving its purpose?
I dont know if its sucessful, becuase a lot of people still drive while being drunk. But it may change some people way of thinking. It will make them think of the consequences of their actions, and how will it feel to ruin a person's life like this.

Yes, because the ad shows a kid that has an allergy but thats not just an allergy is a damage from second-hand smoke, people who lives surroundes by smokers dont have the fault, so they dont have to be suffering of chronic allergies or asthma just because they live surrounded by smokers. And I think this ad should make smokers think about the negative effects of smoking...

i like this advertisement because its true...it can start like a game or trying to have more friends by making them but your just digging your own grave.theres nothing good about drugs it only makes crazy makes you hurt everyone and at the end you are the one who ends lossing big time.
so dont do drugs kids. was between this one and another one of a girl happy all full of life and in the other half a it could be said a zombie all pale sucked in eyes and thats what you look if you do drugs.

Is the ad successful in achieving its purpose? Yes because according to what it says which is "Take my hand not my life" the baby is pleading for his/her mom and making her reason for her not to kill him/her by getting an abortion.

Assignment #1 Feedback..

Good job guys, even though the assignment was to make up a story, I did like what you did and what your interpretation of the pictures was. Rafael, moving is always very difficult, sometimes it happens without us wanting it to happen. We just have to be patient and have faith and optimism that in the long run, things are going to be just fine. And hey, with the internet and technology nowadays, we're all a little closer, don't you think?

As far as paragraphs... a lot of you are having problems with the concept, but thankfully that's part of the work we're going to be doing in class soon.
